Russian drones damage the Saudi ambassador's residence in Kyiv

Data released by the Ukrainian Air Force at 07:43 on 27 September show that Russia launched 170 drones overnight on 26–27 September, 76 of them jet-powered, of which 147 were shot down or jammed. Hits were recorded at 18 locations and falling debris at 8. In a statement at 20:37 that evening, Zelensky said 2 kindergartens, 2 schools, homes, warehouses and communications facilities in Kyiv had also been hit.

According to a Reuters report carried by The Spokesman-Review, 2 people were killed and about 10 wounded at a market in Sofiivska Borshchahivka outside Kyiv on 27 September. Guided bombs killed 2 people in Sumy and 1 in Kharkiv. Russia's Defence Ministry said it had struck 2 data centres in Kyiv, a logistics hub in Odesa and 2 cargo ships bound for Odesa. According to Sharjah24, Moscow also listed a Vodafone data facility among the targets. Reuters reported that the headquarters of Ukraine's largest mobile operator was also hit; the operator named by these 2 sources does not match, and its identity could not be verified.

The two sides also diverge on the number of drones downed. Moscow said it shot down 96 Ukrainian drones over the same period, while Ukraine said it neutralised 147 of 170 Russian drones. According to UNN, Zelensky said Russia had used more than 2,200 drones, about 1,650 guided bombs and 38 missiles over the week. The extent of the damage to the Saudi residence and Riyadh's response could not be verified.
