Russia strikes overnight on 23–24 September with 282 drones, 4 Zircons and ballistic missiles: 2 dead in Kyiv, 6 farm workers killed at Kharkiv vegetable store

According to an Ukrinform report dated 24 September at 08:27, as of 08:00 air defences had neutralised 219 of 282 drones, all 4 Zircon missiles, all 3 ballistic missiles (Iskander-M, S-400, KN-23) and 1 Banderol munition, for a total of 227 targets. Hits were recorded at 13 locations and falling debris at 10, and the attack was reported to be ongoing. According to the Kyiv Independent, ballistic strikes on Kyiv came in 3 waves at 01:00, 01:27 and 01:52 local time; 2 people were killed, 8 were injured and Kyiv Maternity Hospital No. 2 was damaged. Kyiv Post puts the number of injured in Kyiv at no fewer than 6.

According to an Ukrainska Pravda report dated 24 September, Russian forces struck a farm in the village of Stara Hnylytsia in Kharkiv region that same morning with 3 drone-launched Banderol cruise missiles; 1 missile hit a store where workers were sorting vegetables. Six people (2 men, 4 women) were killed and 12 injured; the death toll was initially given as 7 and later corrected to 6 by police. The figures conflict: the Air Force reported that all 3 ballistic missiles were neutralised, whereas the Kyiv Independent quotes Zelensky as saying 60% of ballistic missiles were shot down. According to a WRRU compilation, the attack came immediately after the 23 September attack with 161 drones, in which 2 people were killed in Kyiv.
